Jinshanling Great Wall （金山岭长城), June 2007 : Photographs from a visit to Jinshanling (金山岭), another well-preserved section of the Great Wall. Unfortunately it was rather hazy that day so the pictures didn't turn out as well as I would have liked.

Simatai Great Wall (司马台长城), June 2007 : Pictures from another section of the Great Wall, Simatai. Of the three sections I have visited, by far this was the most peaceful and least crowded. At least when I was there, every party was accompanied by a local resident, usually farmers, trying to sell souvenirs such as picture books. They are generally not very obtrusive and all seem to be centrally coordinated so that there is no more than one to a party. We were accompanied for most of our hike by a fellow about my age who had a family and we had a long conversation, at the end of which I bought some picture books.
